My family consists of my husband Wade, my sons Atticus and Lucas, and our 2 dogs Chewie and Nutmeg. My husband is the Middle School Chaplain at The Lovett School in Vinings. We were married on June 30, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. Our first son was born in 2014 and our second son was born in 2016.
I am originally from Texas. I was born in Midland, Texas and went to college in Lubbock, Texas, at Texas Tech University. I received my graduate degree from the University of North Texas in 2003. I moved to Dallas, Texas, and taught in Plano ISD fourteen years (12 years in first grade and 2 years in fifth grade). From 2012-2015, I was a first grade teaching associate at Pace Academy here in Atlanta. I started teaching at KMS in August of 2015. The 2021-2022 school year will be my 23rd year as an educator.
I'm super excited about my 7th year at KMS! I am Gifted Certified and use my certification to create hands-on, engaging lessons for students. Examples of activities that we do in social studies: physical and digital Breakouts, creating projects to show how events in history are related, and teaching research skills.
KMS is a wonderful school with many opportunities for students to grow and expand their horizons both academically and socially! I'm looking forward to a great year!
